Ramon Cervantes has worked for Harter & Schottland, P.C. for more than three years. In that time, he has defended hundreds of individuals charged with traffic, misdemeanor and criminal felony offenses taking many to contested hearings and/or trial. Ramon also represents people with family related issues and real estate closings.
Ramon is a life long resident of Lake County, being born here after his mother and father immigrated to the United States in 1964. He is fluent in both English and Spanish and takes a particular interest in assisting local underprivileged persons in need of legal help. Ramon volunteers his time on a weekly basis by providing free legal advice to members of the Holy Family Parish in Waukegan and Mano a Mano Family Resource Center in Round Lake Park. He consults on issues ranging from divorce, child custody and violations of the law to contract disputes and immigration concerns. Ramon also organizes free legal seminars in the Round Lake Area in furtherance of his volunteer efforts.
Ramon was educated at the University of Iowa where he received his Bachelor's Degree. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he was Senior Associate Editor of the Law Review. Ramon was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 2005.
